During our travels we came across a lovely little installation by the renowned British artist Damien Hirst entitled "School: The Archaeology of Lost Desires, Comprehending Infinity, and the Search for Knowledge".It's your standard artwork with 30 sheep carcasses floating in tanks of formaldehyde in a half schoolroom / half hospital setting. And a shark, some sausages, and a few sides of beef, and a couple of doves all deceased and similarly preserved. And a well worn leather chair that is also immersed in formaldehyde. And a pair of caged birds that are actually alive. No, I'm not making any of this up. A couple of New York art collectors commissioned this piece for $10 million. And why not? I would too - I know a bargain when I see one. They also let people look at it free of charge, which is nice when you realise that they have to shell out for full time staff and security to curate this piece, as well as pay for the electricity and birdseed.
Despite the look of pure terror on Rach's face the installation is actually pretty cool. Top marks for weirdness.

This reminds me of an episode of a crime series (I think it was Inspector Rex) where there was a artist who used dead things in his artwork. Then he started knocking off people to put in his artwork.
