Joyce Tower

At the sea edge near the Carter's stands one of the 12 or so Martello towers built for the defence of Ireland against Napolean. This particular one has another claim to historical fame - the writer James Joyce once stayed here with artist friends, a situation that ended with shots being fired (apparently at an imaginary large black cat) and Joyce running into the night in his bedclothes never to return.

Must have been alot of Guiness consumed that night...

Yours truly shivering in the wind atop the tower. Nice view yah?

Farley waving from the top of the tower.

Alex takes pics atop the tower, whilst I crouch in a nook to photograph him.

Quasimodo, I mean Alex, climbs the stair to the top.
