Cyprus

We had a brief morning stay at Limassol on the island of Cyprus. Not much to report, I'm afraid. We didn't get out of the main city and just wandered up and down the main seaside promenade, had a coffee, and visited a few local shops.

The Limassol promenade. One again our luck has held out and the weather has been absolutely perfect. In several of our stops the locals have commented on how the weather has just cleared the previous day. This can't last...

One tourist trap we couldn't possibly avoid was the 'Sea Sponges Exhibition Centre' (read: souvenir shop). Absolutely awful. It was full of dead marine life, all of it lacquered into a lame semblance of its previously beautiful form. But it did have a waxwork Jacques Coustaeu.

The Limassol waterfront is home to dozens of cats who are fed by a local. They seem to live amongst the rubble of the breakwater. Rach was in heaven when about ten of these filthy moggys came out and rubbed her legs with their flea ridden bodies. Still, I can't complain - she took me in!

Ahhh, the obligatory coffee stop.

Yeah, it's an icky 'kissing' picture. Just be thankful that this blog isn't full of them.
